In 2018 the Seniors Week Festival will celebrate its 60th year. Seniors Week is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere, reaching up to 500,000 seniors each year. The theme of the 2018 Festival is Let's Do More Together. The festival promotes inclusive communities and provides an opportunity for seniors to try new things, contribute, and remain active and engaged in their local communities.
With this theme in mind, Gunnedah Meals on Wheels (MOW) invited all its clients and volunteers to celebrate Seniors Week at a luncheon on the 28 May 2018. There's always room in life for new experiences and they're even better when shared with friends, family and others so this was an ideal way for them to make new friends and socialise with old ones.
Shenhua volunteers attended the function to further their relationship with Meals on Wheels, their clients and their families. MOW President, Colleen Fuller during her welcome speech recognised Shenhua for their ongoing support since 2013, and thanked the volunteers for their ongoing commitment to the community and clients.
