Shenhua Helps Pre-School Kids Slide Into Action

Publish Time:2016-08-15

Construction of the Werris Creek Preschool Shenhua Community Fund playground improvement is complete with an Official Opening to take place in October 2016.

In 2013 Werris Creek Preschool was successful in its application for a Community Fund grant for $27,500 to upgrade the outdoor equipment and compliance standards.

Preschool Director, Julia Cameron said, "The grant enabled the Preschool to purchase a top of the range outdoor fort which has supported and enhanced children's development in a variety of ways. It offers children an opportunity to take chances by climbing steps, ladders, the climbing wall, or steppers, finding themselves on platforms, metres off the ground. This equipment fits beautifully within the environment, being mostly timber which supports our sustainability philosophy. Without this funding the project would not have been achieved. So our school and community would like to take this opportunity to thank Shenhua for the support they have shown our Preschool."

Debbie Watson, Shenhua Community Liaison Officer, said Shenhua is extremely pleased to be able to support such a worthy project that can benefit the local community of Werris Creek as well as Breeza and Quipolly and provide hours of quality playtime for the children.
