The fifth annual "Quirindi's Got Talent" was held at the Royal Theatre, Quirindi on 28 November 2015. The event was instigated to showcase the extraordinary performance skills of the local community. A rigorous audition process was carried out over two weeks leading up to the event with talented actors, singers and dancers vying for a position as one of 24 finalists on the night.
During Shenhua's eight years in Gunnedah it has long pursued its commitment of being a responsible community citizen. Sponsoring this local event is a further way of honouring that commitment. Shenhua has been a proud sponsor for the past three years and staff travelled to the event to lend their hand in support.
The Theatre was packed to capacity and for the first time in the history of the show two dancers took out the winner's title taking home the first prize of $1,000.
Councillor Ian Lobsey, talent judge said, "Our North West Talent Quest was very successful and it was due to the sponsorship provided by Shenhua, and our other sponsors, that the night was such a success. Without that support it would not be possible to stage events such as these. The quest was a great opportunity for many young folk to perform on stage. I know the winners were very happy to take home their share of the $2,500 prize money".
