Shenhua Watermark Coal was honoured to host a visit from the Consulate General of China (Sydney) on 28 May 2015. The delegation included Mr Huaxin Li, Consul General of Sydney, Mr Gang Peng, Commercial Counsellor and Mr Shanjun Hu, Chairman China Chamber of Commerce Australia.
Mr Liu Xiang, Shenhua Chairman said it was a pleasure and honour to host the delegation and to further build on the working relationship that has been established with the Consulate since 2009.
Paul Jackson, Shenhua Project Manager, provided the delegation with an in-depth presentation that included an overview of the Project as well as an update, community involvement and the State and Federal approval process to date.A site tour was also undertaken to provide the guests with first-hand knowledge of the site.
Mr Li expressed his sincere appreciation to Shenhua for the detailed presentation which enabled the delegation to improve their knowledge of the Project and site.He acknowledged the effective and valuable input from the Shenhua staff in establishing a solid foundation and completing the work according to the science, and for their involvement in many community activities.He encouraged staff to keep this momentum and stay united as a team.
Mr Li also spoke on the many aspects where China and Australia co-operate which allow relationships to grow that are of mutual benefits to both.The Shenhua Project is no exception and will be an excellent example of those relationships that will provide not only economic benefits but investment and employment opportunities.
