The Voice for Mining Family Day is a chance to show just how important mining is to NSW and on 28 March 2015 the NSW Minerals Council once again partnered with the Newcastle Knights to host the event at the Hunter Stadium in Newcastle.
The Voice for Mining Family Day was also on the same day as the NSW State Election which gave the opportunity for miners, their families, industry and local community to have their voice heard by those seeking election to the NSW Parliament through a public demonstration of support for the industry.
The Knights played in hi-vis replica miner's jerseys to show their support for miners and all the good things mining brings to our state.Fans and mining supporters joined the team by wearing bright orange or high-vis work wear.
Over 20,000 supporters attended the day with the Knights winning 24-14 over Penrith to make it four wins in a row and putting them at the top of the leader board.
Shenhua Watermark was proud to show their support of the Voice for Mining Day with many staff making the long journey down from Gunnedah to attend and ensuring that the industry voice was heard by those seeking election.
