Publish Time:2014-05-25
Shenhua staff teamed up with local volunteer organisation Gunnedah Meals on Wheels in April 2013 to help deliver meals to the elderly and housebound residents with 23 Shenhua staff volunteering to assist the local Meals on Wheels program.

On 20 May 2014 Meals on Wheels hosted a special morning tea to thank their volunteers with staff from Shenhua Watermark attending the function.

More than 100 volunteers lend their time to help out the organisation and are crucial to the success of the service.

Gunnedah Meals on Wheels President, Colleen Fuller, thanked all the volunteers as well as several businesses that have come on board in recent years.

"We have a lot of support from Shenhua and we thank the company for its continuing support by recently donating $19,000 to the organisation from its Community Fund," she said

Shenhua's Watermark Project Community Liaison Officer, Debbie Watson said with 23 Shenhua staff consistently rostered on, the initiative was another important way the Project could make a positive impact on the local community.
