Beijing Delegation Visits Shenhua Australia

A delegation from Shenhua Energy Group visited Shenhua Australia's Gunnedah office on Thursday 27 June 2013 to assess the status of the Watermark Project and to provide advice for its future development.

Key members of the Beijing delegation included Senior Vice President of Shenhua Energy Group, Mr Jilian Xue, Chairman of Huanghua Port Youquan Xie and officials from the International Cooperation Department.

The Project management team briefed the delegation by delivering a presentation which highlighted the different aspects of the mine proposal, a Project schedule, achievements to date and an EIS forward works program.

The Project management team also provided the delegation with a site tour of Exploration Licence 7223. The delegation visited key areas of the Project area such as; mining areas, overburden emplacement area, air quality and monitoring sites, location of final void and proposed infrastructure zones.

Upon reviewing the work undertaken to date Mr Xue was confident of the Project's forward plan.

"I am positive about the achievements that the management team has made so far. The achievements made by the Australian company will provide confidence and motivation for Shenhua Group to actively seek overseas projects and opportunities," Mr Xue said.

The Watermark Project is currently undertaking its response to submissions as part of the State Significant Development approval process.
