Staff from Shenhua Watermark volunteered their time last Tuesday to participate in a line dancing fund raising event for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service at the annual Country Music Festival in Tamworth.
The Country Music Festival is the largest music festival in Australia and one of the top ten festivals in the world. This annual event has been running since 1973 and in 1974 the January long weekend was being referred to as "a general, once a year get together for country music followers". The Festival is held over a 10 day period.
For the past 16 years the Westpac Bank has held a line dancing demonstration with the local banking team, businesses and volunteers participating. Over the years funds raised from this event have been in excess of $20,000. A significant amount considering spectators are only asked for a gold coin donation. These funds are then donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to assist in providing a much needed service to the community and mining industry.
Shenhua is a strong supporter of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and is proud to be actively contributing to this fund raising event.
